G&B Ropes offers a revolutionary step in rope construction. We are the only rope manufacture that offers high tech cores that are 100% coated. Currently, other rope manufactures coat post braiding, only coating the outside of the rope. G&B ropes are coated at the filament level. Prior to braiding, individual fibers are coated with a proprietary coating which allows for the construction of an enhanced single braid rope. The result is a line that has increased bend fatigue resistance, increased internal abrasion resistance, and better UV resistance.
G&B offers VectranTM, and DSM Dynemma® SK-78, and DSM Dyneema® SK-99 in our high-tech cores and single braids.
AR99 – (SK99) Coated at the filament level, AR99 has exceptional strength. Up to 20% stronger than SK78, it offers excellent creep resistance and unmatched strength to weight ratio. Available in 1.5mm-12mm.
AR78 – (SK78) Coated at the filament level, AR78 offers high strength and better creep compared to SK-75. Available in 1.8mm-12mm.
ARV– (VectranTM) Coated at the filament level, ARV has the best creep performance and good resistance to heat compared to Dynemma®. Available in 1.5mm-12mm.
The Mistral is a strong, cold wind that blows in notorious in the south of France. It can bring winds in excess of 100mph. Our Mistral product line was built to be as strong as the wind for which it is named. Each of the Mistral products uses a filament coated DSM Dyneema®or a Vectran core with either a 100% High Tenacity Polyester cover or a blended HT Polyester/TechnoraTMcover.
Mistral V, 78, 99 – Our performance double braid polyester line. It is equipped with G&B Ropes color matched filament coated cores in either the ARV (Mistral V), AR99 (Mistral 99), or AR78 (Mistral 78). The polyester cover comes in a 16-carrier or 24-carrier option. Available in 4mm-19mm
Mistral Tech 78 & Mistral Tech 99 – A blend of polyester and TechnoraTM and available with our filament coated, color matched, AR78 (Mistral Tech 78) or AR99 (Mistral Tech 99) cores. These lines perform best as jib sheets, mainsheets, and control lines with high loads, abrasion, and heat from winches. Available in 5mm-14mm
Mistral Tech Control– A cover that uses a blend of polyester and TechnoraTM with a MFP (polypropylene) core. This line is perfect as a strong yet light weight dinghy control line with a high resistance to chafe. Available in 4mm, 5mm, 6mm
A Zephyr is the lightest of winds. Any sailor who has been out on glassy water knows that to catch the lightest of winds you need a line that is light but also strong. G&B developed the Zephyr lines to catch these winds. Built strong and light, they use Multifilament Polypropylene (MFP) in the cover. MFP is light and does not absorb water, so it stays light! A cover with MFP blended with Dyneema®adds strength while keeping the overall weight of the line minimal.
Zephyr D 78 – The cover is a blend of Dyneema® and polypropylene with an AR78 core. The blend of MFP and Dyneema® adds strength and abrasion resistance while keeping the line light weight. This line works well as spinnaker sheet and mainsheets where the line is trimmed by using ratchet blocks rather than a winch. Available in 5mm-9.5mm.
Zephyr 78 – It is a polypropylene cover equipped with either AR78 core. This line is light and won’t absorb water. The addition of the AR78 color matched core creates a strong line that can be tapered down to the core. Available in 5mm-9.5mm.
Zephyr – Our light weight performance double braid polypropylene (MFP) line. Great for light air spinnaker sheets. Available in 5mm-8mm
Dinghy Braid – This is an 8-plait, continuous-filament polypropylene rope designed for dinghies and sport boats. It’s lightweight, flexible, easy to coil, soft to handle, does not kink, and it floats!
SLS Yacht/Brite/Euro Braid – Our trademark SLS Yacht Braid, one of the world’s most popular ropes, is one of the finest all polyester ropes available for running rigging. As well as being pre-stretched in a proprietary process, the Super Low Stretch (SLS) line is easily splicable for optimal efficiency. This line comes in White with tracers, mottled colors, or a colored cover (Bright) with or without tracers. Available in 5mm-19mm
Dockline – Manufactured using G&B’s proprietary ANKERLENE® fiber, which in addition to having the same high strength as nylon dockline, is also shrink resistant. The use of this new fiber provides a longer-lasting line with higher abrasion resistance for longer life! Complete with overlay finish.
ANKERLENE® – Shock absorption and wet strength in a line that doesn’t shrink and harden like nylon! The result of years of development, our proprietary Ankerlene fiber is engineered to have the desired elasticity for controlled shock absorption, good strength (with no wet strength loss), low shrink, excellent abrasion resistance, and excellent UV stability. This fiber also exhibits good dielectric properties due to its hydrophobia.
